The Gen X Concept is the result of more than 3 years intense research into the perfect design for the taper and shape of a pole. This new design offers a range of poles that make fishing past 16m a reality, with the precise balance between stiffness, weight and low diameter. Gen X poles result in lighter, stiffer poles than those offered by the competition, giving Shimano designers room to strengthen number 4 and 5 sections to way above normal requirements - something that has proven to be a problem for our competitors. The Aspire Ultra, Fireblood and Super Ultegra are all produced on the GEN X mandrel meaning that all sections will interchange, and a large range of affordable generic spares are now available to fit each pole. The design of the match top 3’s incorporates a very short, telescopic larger bore number 1 section which when removed will fit an internal bush and the heaviest elastics available.
